I’m an independent custom carpenter. Boarder Built is the business I run and the work I personally carry from planning through installation.
I enjoy figuring out
the unusual details.
I love the point where an idea meets the practical work of building it. An awkward opening, an angled ceiling or a detail that needs to line up across a room gives me something to solve. That is a big part of why I enjoy custom carpentry.
I want to understand how a piece will be used, how it should feel in the room and how it will fit the conditions on site. Those questions shape the planning just as much as the appearance of the finished work.
Building on site lets me work with the actual space. I can adjust the fit, work through transitions and carry the design intent into the details that people see and touch every day.
The person you speak to
is the person doing the work.
I personally design and plan projects, coordinate details and materials, fabricate custom work on site, spray finish where required and complete the installation.
That includes custom millwork, site-built cabinetry, built-ins, doors, trim, feature walls and ceilings. They are all part of my custom carpentry work, connected by an interest in thoughtful details and a good fit.
I work with homeowners and commercial clients, and alongside builders, architects and designers. When there is a project team, I coordinate directly on my scope, the site requirements and the sequence.

I’m drawn to distinctive interiors, cottage and waterfront work, and projects where custom carpentry can make a real difference. You do not need to have every answer before getting in touch. Photos, a rough idea or a set of plans are all useful starting points.
I will travel for the right interesting project. Location, scope and timing are part of the first conversation so we can work out what makes sense.
